The Doctrines of Civil Government

Adult Sunday School Class

  • This video series is designed to serve as an adult Sunday School curriculum. The class watches the video, then the facilitator moderates the discussion using the provided questions.
  • In a subject as broad and controversial as the doctrine of civil government (politics), it is expected that the class leader should be prepared to correct or further explain certain points.
  • Provided is an edited transcript of each session to help the facilitator prepare, along with questions and additional resources. The format is Word 2003.

  • There are three ways the curriculum can be used: This civil government class can be either 13 weeks or expanded to 26 weeks.
  1. The class watches the entire video followed by a discussion. Since the videos are about 30 minutes long, this will leave little time for discussion. To enhance interest in the subject, it is highly recommended that ample time be given for elaboration and discussion.
  2. During each class, watch half of each session, followed by questions and discussion.
  3. Watch the entire session and take the entire next class for questions and discussion.
