#73 “The Fig Tree”

God and Country #73 – for March 24 2013 – The Fig Tree

In view of the President’s recent trip to Israel, Program 73 is a review of the prophetic significance of Israel in end-time prophecy. The program begins with the history of Israel’s current conflict with the Palestinians and then explains the prophecies of Israel’s 2,000-year exile from the land. The recent reestablishment of Israel back in the land and her economic success are the remarkable providence of God fulfilling the promise of a future restoration.

Ezekiel foresees Israel’s return to the land with these words: “But you, O mountains of  Israel, you will put forth your branches and bear your fruit for My people Israel; for they will soon come” (Ezekiel 36:8). Jesus used the same words in Matthew 24:32 to describe the sign of His soon return. “Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near.” It is evident that Jesus was referencing the restoration of Israel
as a sign of His soon return. Take notice!
