#154 2 Samuel 24:1
Abridged Radio Program
Program #154 – “2 Samuel 24:1” – 10/12/2014 – Synopsis
Program #154 is a Biblical exposition of the perplexing text, “The anger of the Lord burned against Israel, and He incited David against them to say, ‘Go number Israel and Judah.’” (2 Samuel 24:1). The most difficult texts of Scripture often yield the most insight into the ways of the Lord. In this one passage the Lord is evaluating the spiritual condition of the electorate, the king is making bad policy, and yet the Lord is moving the heart of the king to make that bad policy in order to judge the nation. God’s sovereignty over human government is clearly communicated. This text is key in understanding God’s work in our own day.
