Program #275 “The Return from the Diaspora” – 2/5/2017 – Synopsis
Program #275 covers points of prophesy that I did not have time to cover in the program I did about Israel a couple weeks ago. Although evangelicals see the return of Israel to the land as an obvious prophetic fact, I show from the post-exilic prophets (Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi) that God foretold there would be a second exile into the nations (the Diaspora) and a second return. Sorting out these prophesies is not for the faint of mind.
I then explain two points about Israel’s return that are often overlooked in Evangelicalism: (1) Israel is coming back into the land not as faithful worshippers of Jehovah, but as apostate secularists and Pharisees; (2) The temple will be rebuilt in disobedience to the Messiah, but God will use the rebuilt temple to further His plan.
I conclude with some thoughts about the Palestinians and the two-state solution. Do Christians really want to encourage Palestinians to build a homeland on the West Bank? This will be the epicenter of world conflict.
