Pilate and the Sanhedrin had political motives for crucifying Jesus.  Their power and authority were threatened by Jesus Christ.  The same motive possesses every man.   Additionally, the man-centered, totalitarian state further justified the crucifixion of Christ.   As the High Priest stated, “one man must die for the nation.”   In Collectivism (Socialism), the basis for ethics is the good of the whole rather than the God-given rights of the individual.  For this reason, Socialism (which claims to be the most moral system) is in practice the most immoral system.  What were the politics of the crucifixion?  Power hidden behind the excuse of the good of the collective.
