In this Christmas program, I discuss two essential truths embodied in Christ’s first Advent. First, the Gospel writers’ inclusion of many social/political events in the recounting of Jesus’ birth. There was a divine purpose for including current events in the narrative. Second, the fact that in His first coming, Jesus Christ did not fulfill the promise that He would bring in His Kingdom, His reign of righteousness on earth. The spiritual lesson should not be missed. The sin problem must be taken care of before Christ’s kingdom can be realized.
