#188 Civil Disobedience #4 Bake Me a Cake or Else

Program #188 “Civil Disobedience #4 – “Bake Me a Cake or Else” – 6/07/2015 – Synopsis

Program #188 looks at some practical responses to the current government enforcement of LGBT accommodation. Although Christians will gladly provide goods and services for unbelievers, according to the teaching of 1 Corinthians 8-10, if an activity is highly associated with evil, the Christian cannot participate. The Scriptures distinguish between active and non-active participation.

I explain how the secularists will not have much success in targeting Christian bakers, florists, photographers, etc., because Christians have plenty of workarounds. For example, what if a Christian provides services, but all the while he vocalizes his opposition to sexual perversion? Will homosexuals still hire Christians to do their weddings? Ultimately, the ungodly will attempt to succeed by prohibiting free speech. This will be quite a battle.

The good news is that at each level of persecution, the ungodly will actually build and strengthen the Church. As the Church Father Tertullian wrote, “We spring up in greater numbers as often as we are mown down by you.” I can’t think of any better program to inspire greater Christian commitment, holiness and church growth than the homosexual movement’s persecution of the Church.
